The COVID-19 pandemic has caused a significant change to workload for sexual and reproductive health providers. The revised FSRH Service Standards for Workload in Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) services outline how to ensure that service providers can manage their workload and continue to provide safe, equitable services during and beyond the pandemic.
The Service Standards support the provision of safe, equitable services and enable planning of standardised service delivery. The revised guide includes considerations for online and remote consultations in addition to face-to-face consultations, and includes updated references and links to relevant standards.
The Service Standards for Workload in SRH services include statements on the following aspects of workload:
- Meeting population needs
- Length of consultation
- Skill mix
- Individual clinical workload
- Training and assessment.
The PCWHF has produced a number of COVID-related resources to support you in remote working.
