The Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (RCOG) is extending voting in its 2019 Presidential Election to the broader UK and Ireland membership for the first time in its history.
As part of the election process, the five presidential candidates are taking part in a Q&A session on Thursday 9 May, from 7-8.30pm. The Electoral Reform Society (ERS) is running the Presidential election process and will be live-streaming the Q&A session.
The successful candidate will succeed the current President, Professor Lesley Regan, in December 2019. The candidates running for President in the 2019 election are:
- Miss Melanie Clare Davies FRCOG
- Professor Mary Ann Lumsden FRCOG
- Mr Edward Patrick Morris FRCOG
- Professor Janice Rymer FRCOG
- Dr Alison L Wright FRCOG.
The Q&A session will be presided over by the RCOG’s Women’s Voices Lead, Kate Brian, who will ask each of the candidates a series of questions and provide them with the opportunity to make a closing statement at the end.
You can watch the live stream from 7pm on Thursday 9 May.
Voting for the election opens on Monday 13 May and closes on Friday 7 June. The result will be announced later in June.
