Predicting Overweight Offspring Study

Obesity in pregnancy and related early-life factors place the offspring at the highest risk of being overweight.

This longitudinal study identifies infants exposed to obesity in pregnancy who are at highest risk of an early-starting higher-than-normal body mass index growth trajectory followed by overweight.

To quantify individual risk, this study devised a novel sequential prediction system; a procedure which could be integrated into our existing health system to stimulate cost-effective advice and measures to counteract the risk of early excess weight gain.
